The Jazz Gallery Presents: Cameron & Conway Campbell

Pianist Cameron and bassist Conway Campell are brothers from Worcester, Massachusetts. They performed together from a young age, whether serenading with standards at local nursing homes, or sitting in with their hometown’s Assumption University jazz band. The elder Conway studied with Ron Carter & Nat Reeves at the Hartt School, and now both brothers are studying uptown at the Manhattan School of Music.

This week, the Campbells make their Jazz Gallery debut as co-leaders. They’ve invited two of their faculty mentors to share the stage with them—saxophonist Jaleel Shaw and drummer Kendrick Scott. Expect the brothers to hold serve with such esteemed company. As you can hear in the video below, they’re willing to mix it up with lurching rhythms, piquant harmony, and emphatic counterpoint.

Cameron & Conway Campbell play The Jazz Gallery on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. The group features Cameron Campbell on piano, Conway Campbell Jr. on bass, Jaleel Shaw on alto saxophone, and Kendrick Scott on drums. Sets are at 7:30 and 9:30 P.M. E.S.T. $20 general admission (FREE for members), $30 reserved cabaret seating ($20 for members), $20 livestream access (FREE for members) for each set. Purchase tickets here.
