The Jazz Gallery Presents: Darius Jones Trio

On Instagram a couple of months ago, saxophonist Darius Jones wrote, “I’m feeling so inspired lately and embracing every idea that comes as an opportunity for exploration towards unique discoveries.” Jones’ inspiration has come and been released in many forms—touring with Amirtha Kidambi in their duo Angels & Demons, writing new music for a new quintet, teaching at the contemporary music festival New Music On The Point.

This week, Jones returns to The Jazz Gallery with a trio alongside longtime collaborators Chris Lightcap on bass and Gerald Cleaver on drums, performing a set of music he has entitled Legend of e’Boi. The Darius Jones Trio plays The Jazz Gallery on Friday, July 7, 2023. The group features Mr. Jones on alto saxophone, Chris Lightcap on bass, and Gerald Cleaver on drums.
