The Jazz Gallery Presents: Jaleel Shaw Quartet

Over the past two decades, saxophonist Jaleel Shaw has been a frequent sight at the Newport Jazz Festival, support such bandleaders as Roy Haynes, Dave Holland, Nate Smith, and Louis Cole. However, this weekend, Shaw takes the Newport stage as a leader for the first time.

Before heading up to Rhode Island, Shaw and his working quartet look to lock in the groove at The Jazz Gallery. With pianist Lawrence Fields, bassist Dezron Douglas, and drummer Joe Dyson, Shaw will be featuring new original compositions from an upcoming record releasing this fall. The Jaleel Shaw Quartet plays The Jazz Gallery on Tuesday, July 30, and Wednesday, July 31, 2024. The group features Mr. Shaw on saxophones, Lawrence Fields on piano, Dezron Douglas on bass, and Joe Dyson on drums. Sets are at 7:30 and 9:30 P.M.
