The Jazz Gallery Presents: Juan Diego Villalobos

Originally from Venezuela, vibraphonist Juan Diego Villalobos moved to New York in 2018 to study at the Manhattan School of Music. Since then, Villalobos has found a musical home at The Jazz Gallery, where he has presented music both as a leader, and as a member of the collaborative Caracas Trio alongside fellow Venezuelans Daniel Prim and Gabriel Chakarji.

This week, to help kick off our summer season, Villalobos returns to the Gallery with a new quartet featuring pianist Gadi Lehavi, bassist Harish Raghavan, and drummer Mark Whitfield Jr. Before coming out to hear this new lineup, take a listen to one of Villalobos’s Untitled compositions, performed at his last Gallery appearance.

Juan Diego Villalobos plays The Jazz Gallery on Friday, July 12, 2024. Mr. Villalobos, vibraphone, will be joined by Gadi Lehavi on piano, Harish Raghavan on bass, and Mark Whitfield Jr. on drums. Sets are at 7:30 and 9:30 P.M. E.D.T. $25 general admission ($15 for members), $35 reserved cabaret seating ($20 for members), $20 livestream access ($5 for members) for each set.
