The Jazz Gallery Presents: Ravi Coltrane

This week, The Jazz Gallery is pleased to welcome saxophonist Ravi Coltrane back to our stage for three nights of performances. For this special run, Coltrane has convened three different bands, featuring both musical peers and those of a younger generation.

On Thursday, Coltrane is joined by guitarist Adam Rogers, bassist Dezron Douglas, and drummer Kush Abadey. On Friday, Coltrane assembles his combustible Freedom Trio with Douglas and drummer Johnathan Blake. On Saturday, Coltrane is joined by longtime pianist partner Luis Perdomo and two younger musicians—bassist Noah Garabedian and drummer Mark Whitfield Jr.

As a little preview of coming attractions, check out Coltrane and Whitfield playing with pianist Orrin Evans’s quintet this year, below.
